Demistifying Life and Web Development

About Fremus.co.za

The name Fremus is a combination of my name and surname and I do believe it refers to lions roar or something similar.

My name is Fredrik Erasmus and I currently live in Cape Town, South Africa. My day job currently entails a lot C# and a little less ASP.NET development and a lot of other business activities. I started my career in web development in 1999 when I enrolled for a BSc degree in Computer Studies through London Metropolitan University through Boston City Campus, South Africa. I finished my studies in 2003, but had already started working in 2002 for a small home business as a data capturer. The same business was later taken over by a larger competitor to which I moved and where I spent a lot of time learning about video technologies such as wmv, mpg and AVI. In this time I also spent some time getting to know a bit more about ASP.NET, after which I joined another company with a group of established developers, aiming to further my career as a C# developer.

My first stints into ASP.NET development included the use of the horrible little program called ASP.NET Web Matrix. It served a purpose though and taught me enough to get to the next level which was ASP.NET 2.0. At the moment I spend my time using Visual Studio 2008.

I love surfing the web, I am an Internet junkie, and I love reading about success stories. I also like watching movies, I deliberately buy DVD’s I have never seen, because I feel simply collecting them doesn’t necessarily mean you will watch them again. I also continued reading a fantasy series I last read when at school. All exciting stuff.

    Dear Fredrik

On the strength of your blog

..I am extending this potential programming position to you to review. I am looking for a ‘talented’ c# programmer to take over our existing c# projects.

If you know anybody that fits the bill let me know. I am an ex-South African so I would like to push this position to my country of birth or someone in Africa.

But, I need somebody GOOD at a GOOD price. I am also investigating China and India.

    C# DEVELOPER / SQL SERVER / AJAX / JAVASCRIPT
We want a .NET programmer with an ‘open source’ mindset

Please review the above carefully and let me know if you think your ‘team’ has the credentials to take on this role.

Initially, the position will be ‘contractual’ but in reality I want a permanent team in place who I can:

    - trust
    - are sh** hot programmers
    - turn things around quickly
    - are self starters
    - Who are not slow MS type thinkers but have a more open source mentality.
    - Resourcefall
    - Document their work

This position will go quickly so need fast, quality replies. :)
